The previously posted Arlon pic of the dock handiwork is clearly a humancentric focus. Here is how the dock and Arl's juicy new posts look to the beavies from the north end.

And here's what happens with bad little dockies when they slip their mooring. Can you identify where this is? There's a free tin of pitch remover for the first correct answer;-)

A finished view of the weekend's efforts. Next up, a ramp from step area to the shore!

In an effort to keep the dock from "wandering", Dad & I installed a set of mid-posts, driven into the pond bottom. Here's a "during" shot.

March 28, 2009

Nice day at camp yesterday ~~ everything still in place, including the dock. But it's still winter out there ~~'twas work getting down to the pond and back up, several times. The water line was buried and locked into ice in places but got it out and in place on the pond.
Was surprised at the pond ice given the warm weather we've had for a couple weeks ~~ not even melted at the edges. Didn't even get a crinkle when I walked out a 100' or so. Here's a few pix to show you what you're missing.

Almost @ The Camp

OK...we weren't officially at the camp, but we DID drive by the exit to Montpelier and we DID see Dad. Lily and I had the most excellent 2 days skiing while visiting with Cammy & Emanuel in Jonesville...and Dad in Burlington.

This is Lily's first year skiing and we went up the quad chairlift first thing at Bolton Valley and had the most amazing views of Lake Champlain.
Given the snow depths, it will likely be a few more months before we get up to the camp. But it won't be long.
